I've moved my livejournal/blog to a new location because although I kinda like the livejournal format, what with the mood/music things and friends and whatnot, the site always seems to run slow and it takes me too long to update my posts. Or maybe I'm just crazy. Either way, my new blog can be found at http://ck.cptn.net . Maybe I'll come back to this one someday if I decide to go back, but for now, you can find the occaisional update on my life here.
Eat that.

Well Jen updated hers, so I guess I should update mine too.
Things are great. Valentine's day is coming (woot). Things with Jen have never been better. Classes are decent. I 0wned linux by putting it on my laptop and pounding it into submission until it would play my DVD's and suspend/resume correctly. =)
I guess that's enough. Life is exciting. Whee.
Does anyeone have a house I can have next year?

Just got to my new apartment. It is so awesome! I finally got all my stuff moved in and set up. It's so nice having a room to myself.
I had a really nice talk with my dad on the way down. We talked about all kinds of things... life, work, relationships and more. It was one of the first talks like that I had ever really had with him. It was really cool though because in some ways it felt like I was talking to a close friend instead of a parent. There was no telling me what to do, just sharing our thoughts on different things and him giving me advice from his experience. Thanks Dad.
Things are gonna be great this year.

My puppy died today, I'm really sad. She was like 11 years old now and she had diabetes and was on insulin for over three years. For the last couple weeks she was just sorta laying around and wouldn't eat anything. It's hard to know that she's gone now, but it's good that she isn't suffering anymore. I'll miss you Shadow... =*(

How is it that three little words can mean so much? That they can encapsulate all one's feelings for someone into such a short, simple phrase. The feeling it creates withing you is amazing. It seems to start in my ears, then it spreads into my mind and floods throughout my entire body. I can only describe it as something along the lines of excitement, joy, gratitude, and appreciation all amazingly combined into one sudden emotion evoked by these three little words. Simply incredible...

I suppose it's about time I updated my journal so all those concerned know what's going on in my life :P
Starting the week after xmas break:
Jen came up to SLO for the whole week, which was awesome because it gave us a chance to be around each other every day, not trying to cram everything into a weekend.
I've seen her almost every weekend since then (cept one). It's been so great being able to see Jen so often, it'll just be hard once we can't see each other so often :\
Valentine's day weekend was great. My roommate was gone, so we got a little time alone. On friday we went to Pismo and watched the sun set, then went to an italian restaurant, then came back and watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding (or rather 1/2 of it cuz Jen started to fall asleep. The next day we watched the other half of the movie, spent some time in downtown SLO, went to Ralph's and got some food and came back here and had a romantic candlelight dinner. Overall the weekend was probably the best weekend ever.
Since then I've seen Jen alot, which has been great. School is starting to be easier, which certainly helps.
I met her parents last weekend, they are SO COOL! in fact Jen was complaining that she feels left out when I'm talking to them. :\ sorry babe.
This weekend she's coming up here and we're gonna drive up to San Francisco together, spend the day there, then come back to San Jose so she can meet my parents. Should be good times.
That's all for now, I'll eventually update this thing again, just don't expect it to be anytime soon.

So let me tell you about this girl Jen...
1. She's from Temecula, a town somewhere bewteen San Diego and LA. 2. She's my next door neighbor's friend from back home. 3. She's one of the coolest girls I've ever met. 4. She drove FIVE HOURS to see me for the weekend, and got TWO speeding tickets during the process. 5. She actually seems to understand me. 6. She is understanding when I need to get things done and can't talk. 7. She makes me wish I lived further South. 8. She sends me e-mail 9. She sends me real mail. 10. I can look into her eyes and see everything I could wish for.

A few random scattered events and ideas that I've been meaning to write down.
Just the other day I found out that the wakeboard club was not doing any more day trips. This kinda made me sad. Not just for the reason that I couldn't ride every weekend in that awesome water, but also cuz now winter's coming. While snowboarding is a lot of fun, its waay far away, more expensive, and I definitely won't get to do it every weekend. Anyway, I'm looking forward to Spring and the start of another season, but I guess I'll just have to find something else to keep myself occupied on Saturday mornings from 8am-noon, haha oh wait, sleep. =P
Today I woke up to the sound of school busses and a huge group of kids down at the performing arts center (my room overlooks the front of the center). As I was walking down to class, I saw a tour guide with a huge group of kids and I made out a few words that she said, "College is a lot different from Junior High. You'll see that most of the students here are walking around on their own, nobody telling them when to go to class, when to eat, etc." I thought about that for a second... so true. It sorta reminded me of a time in sixth grade when my class went to San Jose State. I thought college would be the coolest thing ever. You get to eat whatever you want, nobody telling you what to do, only a few hours of class every day. Then I started to think about it. College really is great. I really am enjoying things so far. So yeah, sorta a little reflection combined with a self-esteem boost. That made my day right there.
Speaking of waking up. I woke up at 9:45 today! (Usually its at least 10:30). Not only that, but I ate BREAKFAST! I had heard a lot of people talk about this meal before lunch... but had never really tried it. I went down to the sandwich place and got a ham and cheese crossaint, stuck it in the microwave for a minute, MMM.
A recent addition... I met someone today who I totally did not expect. I was on my way back from CPE orientation (my last class), talking to Chris, a guy from San Jose who went to Valley Christian. This girl (very attractive) came up to him and was like "hey, how ya doin, etc." they seemed to know each other. (everyone was walking back toward the dorms) I started talking about weather in San Jose to Drew, who's from Santa Clarita (southern cali). The girl was like "What about San Jose?" I said "I lived there." I was guessing maybe she was from SJ too, maybe she knew Chris from home. She sorta had a familiar face too, like I had seen her around town or met her at a party, etc. "Really, so am I," She said. "Oh wow, what school did you go to?" "Silver Creek" "Hey, I live near there, in Evergreen" "Whoa, that's crazy" "What junior high did you go to?" "Chaboya" "No way, me too, what's your name?" I didn't remember anyone like her from my junior high... "Sneha" She said. It hit me, she was this girl from my english class in 8th grade. Supposedly she had a crush on me too, once upon a time. She looks amazing now. "Holy crap,I remember you, I'm Kevin, we were in english class together" "oh wow, yeah, Lawler's class, that's so crazy" So she does remember, hehe. Anyway, we talked and she's in the same major as me, and she spends a lot of time in the other end of the hall. She was like "I'll have to stop by sometime". The world seems to be about this large right now ---> . <--- hehe
Anyway, hope you enjoyed reading this (whoever you are... you must be pretty bored) =) I'm off now, talk to all y'all later.
WHEW I almost forgot something. I went to the GYM on tuesday night with some people from my hall. Yes, that's right, Kevin Worth went to the gym. Anyway, I got there and some of the guys were bench pressing and I was like I will definitely drop that thing on myself if I try that mcuh weight, and you know, you hate to be the guy lifting the little tiny weights... maybe another time, hehe. Anyway, I did the butterfly machine to work on my chest muscles. It seemed not to bad, I was able to do a decent weight. I did three sets of 20 reps with little breaks in between. Not too bad. I tried a couple other machines, like the ab one which is like sit-ups with weight on your chest, and the curling machine, which kills the arms. I felt fine when I left. Not until yesterday did my chest hurt in ways that I never thought possible. It hurts just to lift my arms above my shoulders. Trying to sleep last night was hard cuz it hurt no matter what position I layed in. I'll get over it soon enough. Anyway, enough rambling. See ya

I have seen God. I have played Doom 3.
I got a leaked alpha test of it from somewhere on our network. It's pretty basic and it runs kinda slow, but it is SO SCARY! I haven't been scared while playing a game since, well, Doom 2, back in 1995.
-note added Nov. 22, yeah, I know this is a pretty geek-ish entry, but hey, someone has to find all that cool shit on the internet. =)

Wow, this weekend was pretty crazy. Here were my original plans:
Friday: Karl comes up to visit, we go to the wakeboard club party, have a good time, meet people, etc.
Saturday: Go out with the wakeboard club in the morning to afternoon, then drive down to Irvine and see his school that evening.
Sunday: Hang out at Irvine, then go to the Sharks/Ducks hockey game that night. Drive home after the game.
Here's what really happened:
Friday: Party was pretty cool, but Karl didn't get there until it was about to wind down a bit. Still had a good time and hung out afterward. Came home and watched Van Wilder, went to sleep at 5:30
Saturday: Woke up at 8:30 to go out with the wakeboard club. Got stuff together then went and got bagels for breakfast, mmm. Left the parking lot and went up to the lake. Once we got there, went out on the boat and had a nice run. Came back in, just sorta chilled, not many people were there that I knew. Had hot dogs and relaxed. Another boat came that was looking for people to ride. We took advantage of it and hopped on. The water was a bit colder than last time, but it was worth the loss of body heat. Went into a sorta channel thing and rode the nicest glassiest water I had been on in my LIFE. This was not just normal glass. This literally was PERFECTLY flat, no wind, no ripples whatsoever. It was weird, it almost felt slower, it was like riding on butter. Oh man, it felt nice though. I didn't even do jumps in it, I just sat there outside the wake carving back and forth and watching the water below me. Ahhhh. Talk about a moment of Zen.
Anyway, we came back and found a couple people who were about to head home and hopped in their car. Stopped at in-and-out burger on the way home. Good eats.
Got back to the dorm, took a shower, then we got ready and left for Irvine. Driving down wasn't too bad cuz we had walkie-talkies, eventually we made it through LA and everything (no traffic at 11:00!). Went and saw Jackass, OMG that movie was funny. Some parts were pretty gross, but still, certainly a landmark in modern cinema. hehe
Sunday: Woke up at noon, it was nice to catch up on some sleep. Got stuff together and went to California Pizza Kitchen for lunch. Good, good food. Went back to Karl's dorm, played some foosball and then got ready to go to the hockey game. Drove up to Anaheim, missed the turn for the arena, got stuck on a one way street with no turns for several blocks. Drove around some of the non-Disney Anaheim. Interesting. Got close and then Justin called to see if we could stop somewhere and get a posterboard and marker. Found a Sav-on-drugs somewhere and got this HUGE marker, like an inch diameter with a tip that's like the size of my finger. Got that, and then found a parking place that was only 3 bucks (parking at the area, like a block closer, was 13!!!). Met Justin, Omar, and Steven, and went inside. Our seats were way high up, but only 15 bucks. Anaheim fans suck. The arena was like only half-full. After the first period, we went down and snuck into the first level seats while the ticket-checker guy was doing something. It was so great, we were like 10 rows away from rinkside, the players actually looked like people. hehe, amazing. Then, randomly, one of the arena ladies comes up and is like "You guys have to go back to your seats." We're like "wha?" She's like "Show me your tickets." Then we left that area. We walked down a few sections and saw the ticket checker guy talking to someone. We just walked in like we knew what we were doing and nobody said anything. We watched the rest of the game there, it was cool. We won, 4-3. Yay. There were a LOT of Sharks fans there too. hehe, San Jose fans rock.
Said goodbye to everyone, then gassed up my car and headed out at about 8. Traffic was not bad at all, I got through LA fine. Strangly, my battery light came on sometimes when the engine revved a little. When I slowed down though, it seemed to turn off, so I didn't worry too much.
Somewhere around Ventura, the light came on and wouldn't go off. Hmm. Car manual said the light "indicates there could be a problem with the electrical system and that the battery may not be charging, have the car serviced" Weird, but nothing else seemed to happen so I kept driving, figuring I'd get it checked when I got home.
Then my airbag light came on. Manual said "Indicates a malfunction with the airbag system, have the car serviced immediately." It was that one last word that worried me, immediately. Hmm, yeah, time to call dad. He said it was part of the electrical thing, probably something wrong with my alternator, I should look for a place in Santa Barbara and stop. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance.
While I was talking to my dad, my low fuel light came on. I had a half-tank of gas, see, look at my guage. Suddenly, all my guages dropped to zero. Not cool. It was time to pull over now. I saw a sign "Santa Barbara, next right" Thank god, I pulled off the road, hm, just a little gas station and mini-mart. I shut the car off, and try starting it again, nope. Time to call triple A. I call em and they send a tow-truck on his way. Meanwhile, I start calling people to see if they're in the area or can pick me up or SOMETHING.
The tow truck driver, very nice guy, gets there, says yeah, its an electrical thing, offers to tow it to the Ford dealership, which is on the other side of Santa Barbara, many miles past the 7 miles included with triple A membership. It was on his way home. Yay.
Meanwhile, I call Karl to try to figure out who goes to UCSB who maybe could pick me up. The only people we could think of were his brother's friends from West Valley. I called Eric and he said he'd try, he was just there a few hours before. He called me back later and said his friend DJ said I could stay at his place, but he didn't have a car to pick me up. Eric called his other friend, Beverly, and she said she'd pick me up no problem, whew. I had a place to stay.
The tow driver dropped me off and Beverly came a few minutes later. She was really cool, and she dropped me off at DJ's. I called everyone back and let them know I was ok, and went to bed.
Monday: Woke up at 7:50 when my mom called me, the alarm on my phone at 7:30 didn't go off...weird. Anyway, I called the dealer and they transferred me to a manager who helped me out and sent a shuttle to get me. I went back in the house and ate some coco puffs (Thanks DJ!). The shuttle got there and took me over to the dealer. I talked to them, and they said they'd get started. That was around 9am I think. I killed time reading magazines, walking to the shopping center nearby, and watching the TV in the lounge. Finally, at about 2, my car was fixed and ready to go. Yay. Finally.
I drove home in what seemed like no time (I drove the speed limit mom, or at least close to it, hehe). It was good to be back at Poly where the girls are hot and the weather is nice.
So that's my weekend. God, my hands are tired from typing so much. This took me an hour to write (a few IM's in between). Congrats if you actually read all this, hehe.

It finally hit me that I'm out of high school. Gone. Summer is almost over and there are many people who I'll not see for years, if ever. Wow. Thanks to everyone who has been a part of this stage of my life, no matter how small you may think your contribution is... it's still important to me. Thank you. I think it finally took Vaughn getting ready to leave for me to realize this, but now is certainly the beginning of something new...

Damn, today was the kind of day I started this journal for.
I woke up at like 11 because I was up until 1am doing music for the party and talking to people about parties, friends, and life. I just lazed around the house for a while helping get ready for the party.
Next I drove up to Santa Clara to go to Dee's party. I had some lunch (MMMMM, good food!) and spent some time talking to Robert Lopez who goes to Cal Poly. It was nice talking to someone who's going there and I can ask some questions. My favorite quote from him "dude, in college, AIM is your life" hahahahaha, so what is it now? =) I headed home around 2:30 cuz I needed to finish stuff up before our party.
I went over to karl's house to check on them to see if they were gonna be ready to play after not practicing, and they sounded really good. I went home to change and help put stuff in the car.
Funny how something as simple as making balloon bouquets can be fun. My dad, my brother, and I started a little system for blowing them up, cutting the strings, and tying them. It was a nice family time, hehe.
We left for the party and I was amazed once we got there how easily and quickly things came together, one minute it was an empty room, the next it was a dining room, a stage for a band, a photo spot, and a table with a bunch of pictures and memorabilia, including an awesome slide show (THANKS DAD!!!).
The party got started and people showed up en masse, I said hi and got some food (very good stuff thanks to the moms who had been cooking for like two days straight). I was so happy with all the people who had come... people from the neighborhood, family, friends, teachers, it rocked. It was so nice to have such a big room with all the seats FILLED with people there for your party.
The band played and sounded pretty good. I was kinda worried that it would be too abrasive for the older people, and my mom said it was too loud, but we needed some way to let them know their time was almost up. =P
We then stopped stuff and came up to pass the mic around and say thank yous to everyone, parents, teachers, neighbors, grandparents. I think that moment, seeing us thank them for every moment they had given us was very gratifying to everyone who had helped get the party off the ground.
A few more songs, and the crowd quickly changed around 9:00. Tons of our friends showed up thanks to excellent timing and no other parties going on during ours. The band played a couple songs which everyone seemed to enjoy, then everyone was on the floor ready for some dancing.
The lights turned off which was good, and then there was some struggle for the music and who had what to play. Fortunately Daniel had made a couple cd's of good stuff everyone likes. I had made a dance cd but alot was house and stuff that people might not like or expect. The pause between songs was kinda annoying once the energy got going, but it gave everyone a short break to talk.
Most everyone danced and had a GREAT time, although it was a little separated with the SJHA and ST people, but that was no big deal. We intermingled a little, but it was a little hard to get to know people in that situation. It was still cool. It was also a little weird dancing with parents, siblings, and those people who don't dance and would rather laugh at those who are, watching. After a while though, everyone just stopped caring, so it was all right.
haha, and then, right in the middle of everything, they decided to have a mother-son dance. Daniel busted out Ben by Michael Jackson, it was hella funny and fun at the same time. The moms had wanted something faster, but we did not know how to dance to that kind of stuff, so we slow-danced.
Some more dances with everyone, lots of fun, and it suddenly was almost 11. They played one last song, we all wanted something big, fun, and loud, instead it was a slow song. Oh well, it was still nice. I danced with Danielle, someone who I never got a chance to spend much time with but would have really liked to.
After the last song, everyone said their goodbyes, we cleaned up a little and then went out into the entryway. We were trying to figure out what to do, but had no idea. Justin wanted Wendy's so we figured we'd go there and then figure out where to go from there.
We got to wendy's and they were closed. Justin and Nelson got drive-thru and then we went to in-n-out burger which I was actually happier about. We (Me, Karl, Omar, Selene, Justin, Nelson, ChrisT safos, and Daniel) just hung out, ate, and made fun of each other for a while.
Once we finally decided we were gonna go, everyone said they were gonna go home... wimps. =P It was just me, Omar, Selene, and Karl left. We decided to go bowling, so we headed over to Oakridge.
We must have just missed the other group of Irene, Aron, Anna, Chris Von Motz, Boris, and Stephen, cuz irene said they left at like 1:10 and we got there around 1:30.
We played two games and it was amazing how well we did. I bowled a 127 the first game. Wow, I hadn't bowled that well in a looong time. The second game I didn't have such luck, and just barely beat Selene for 3rd place. Omar though bowled a 149... crazy, his first five frames were strike, strike, spare, strike, spare.
Then I took Omar and Selene home which I've done like so many times in the last week its not even funny. I got home and hopped on the computer at 3:15, then started writing this journal entry at like 3:30, its 4:10 now... dang, where did the time go, hehe.
I think I might go in the spa for like 10 minutes cuz my legs are pretty sore from walking, standing, dancing, driving, and bowling. Congratulations to everyone who graduated and to everyone who finished reading this saga that was my day. Also thanks to everyone who contributed to this awesome day by coming to the party!!! It was awesome!

18 I act like I'm 18. This test was brought to you by David - Part of the David and James phenomenon. Take it here.
Wow, big surprise. Anyway, everyone seems to be updating their journals lately... Maybe I should. Basically lately just been feeling amazed that high school is already coming to an end. I guess I'll probably just enjoy all the time I can with the people I love (and even some people I don't love, but are fun to be around). I wish everyone the best of luck in their future plans and adventures. My best advice is this: enjoy every day. even if you are in such a shitty mood that you can't think there is anything good in the world, do something that you enjoy. read a book. draw something, anything. write. play a video game. smile at a pretty girl/ handsome guy. you'll find that you can at least have that one happy moment each day to look back on, no matter how awry your day may go.
I'm really gonna miss everyone, but i think its fortunate that we all (for the most part) have AIM and can stay in contact if we need/want to. Its amazing the kind of impact one little computer program can have on your life. For the last 4 or 5 years, it has been my telephone, my answering machine, my deep conversations, my jokes, my sad moments, my connection to my friends. I'm so glad that everyone seems to finally have it, as I think it's a great way to talk to people and learn more about them in a calm, stress free, laid back way. The only thing I regret is that screen names aren't common contact info these days like phone numbers and email addresses. Not until this year do I have screen names for almost everyone I know. Some people I definitely wish I had known sooner. Anyways, enough out of me, hehe what a geek.
Thanks to everyone who has shared in my life thus far, its been great and it only looks to get better!
PS: OK, I don't think pasted AIM convo's quite count as a real journal entry, cheaters =P

What a day... I know I haven't posted for a while, but I haven't had many days that have been too incredible for a while.
This morning I went to my friend's dad's funeral. That was tough. I had never been to one before, and it took alot for me not to cry. He was a great guy and I have nothing but happy memories of him. I also realized today that funerals are less for the ones that pass away and more for the ones who live on. It felt good to be there to comfort my friend, his mom, and our other friends. The reception afterwards was nice, and everyone was able to cheer up a little and remember good times. It also helped that like all the people there who were my age I hadn't seen for about a year or more, so we were all able to talk and catch up. The funeral had gotten me sorta depressed and contemplative, but the reception and other activities helped take my mind off it.
In the evening a few of us went to our school's last volleyball game of the season. It was a home game and it was against our rival school, and we kicked their asses. A good time was had by all (cept the other team of course). All in all a good day.

Short post because I'm tired, but today was another very full day. Left the house at like 11:45 with Vaughn to meet Irene and Virginia and some people at Happy Hollow where they were doing a service project. We ended up helping to paint for like half and hour then we ran out of paint. Then we went to Jack in the Box and lost Virginia and Derrick on the way.
After that, Irene, me, and Vaughn came back to my house and we just hung out, then went to the Great Mall so I could check out the repair info for my sunglasses.
Next, we came back to my house and Vaughn went to go get Sydney. Irene and I just hung out at my house watching TV. Everyone got back and we went to the movies and saw 40 days and 40 nights, hella funny stuff.
Then Vaughn, Sydney, and I went to laser tag in Mountain View to meet Karl, Justin, Tsafos, etc. We played for half an hour and it was pretty cool. Finally we went to Krispy Kreme and got some yummy donuts. I also got a dozen to surprise my family with tomorrow (er, this) morning.
My food intake today certainly made up for the lack of it yesterday. Yesterday all I had was a burger and fries at in-n-out. Today I had bagel bites, top ramen, a sourdough jack, a large togo's sandwich, and a couple donuts with soda everywhere in between.
I finally get to sleep in tomorrow!!! Both friday and saturday mornings I've had to get up before noon, grr. Tomorrow I'll be super rested and stuff. Yay. Goodnight.
